Mobile EMS Prototype for Field Studies- Hardware-Phase II - Cyber Academic Group
Julian, Alexander L.
The goal of this project is to model and test a 15-20A energy management system (EMS) packaged so that it can be moved to different locations for practical demonstrations and microgrid studies. When an EMS is connected to a power system, it is possible to study its ability to save electricity and improve power quality. The EMS prototype will allow a microgrid to operate connected to the grid or in islanding mode when power from the main grid is not available. Therefore energy cost reduction as well as energy security will be addressed by this technology. In phase II of this project the EMS designed in phase I will be made mobile to interface sites other than the 51¸£Àû lab.
