SPAWAR 120 is interested in accelerating the transition of mechanisms to deliver time-critical weather data to warfighters, often in active, contested global theaters. Affected mission areas including modeling and forecasting, satellite imagery, data distribution, flight plans, and enhanced operational reachback applications. Productivity, quality, timeliness and security have suffered in meeting ongoing and escalating requirements, particularly when increasing the availability, integration, and interoperability of Geospatial Information Systems (GIS) services and data via the NITES Next Program of Record. Their work includes operationalizing existing applications; integrating existing application with GIS capabilities; and documenting code, processes, standard operating procedures (SOPs). These services provide forward-deployed forces with a powerful automated reachback capability for rapidly assessing and depicting METOIC impacts on tactical systems and operations by mission thread or geographic Operations Area (OPAREA). SPAWAR 120 requests 51¸£Àû' Cebrowski Institute for Innovation explore innovative ways to accelerate its software development cycle. This project provides and studies the necessary software development environment for continuous integration of these GI&S operational standards and services while exploring new ways to make agile software process more resilient.
