Expertise: South Asia, Insurgencies, Military in Politics, and the Media

 

Dr. Anshu N. Chatterjee teaches political economy, security, and political developments in the comparative context of South Asia. Her current research and teaching include development of protest groups, identity politics and state-society relations in disturbed regions in South Asia.  She has recently expanded her work to study regional cooperation such as the Quad and the BRI in the political economy context of local politics. Her past research includes globalization, political parties, and the media. She received her Ph.D. from the University of California, Berkeley and her BA and MA in Journalism and Political Science from SFSU. In the past, she also worked as a journalist in India.
